Grant Support for Agribusiness Projects
‘The Horticulture Advancement Activity’ (THAzA) is a 5-year Project funded by USAID and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. THAzA focuses on selected horticultural value chains in Balochistan and in the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (previously called FATA). The objective of THAzA is to create jobs and generate income, through increased productivity and quality, improved marketing and access to services and investments in horticultural value chains.
Through its grant support program under THAzA project, FAO intends to support economic activities within the target regions, pertaining to fresh and processed fruits & vegetable businesses. FAO therefore invite applications from potential investors from all of Pakistan who may be interested in: 1) establishing new food processing / value addition businesses; 2) expanding existing businesses and/or; 3) upgrading existing technology / processes.
FAO’s grant support for the approved projects will be on cost-sharing basis and restricted to in-kind items i.e. machinery/equipment. The value of FAO grant may cover upto 50% of a project cost within its grant’s budgetary thresholds.
FAO would like to hear from you if you:

- Interested in investing into the business within selected districts of KP and Balochistan.
- Have sufficient business experience and financial capability to invest and run the desired business successfully.
