Job Description



- Ensure Pakistan operation is within the UNHCR Minimum Criteria for Livelihoods Programming and initiate actions accordingly.


- Support the implementation of the country-specific Livelihoods Strategy, and advising on the design and implementation of livelihoods programmes.


- Coordinate with respective stakeholders the approach for livelihoods programming that is specifically targeting refugees.


- Support the development and implementation, together with Protection and External Relations Sections, of a practical and realistic advocacy strategy on refugee livelihoods opportunities and rights.


- Explore partnerships with NGOs, Government, training institutions, employment services centers, UN agencies, and private sector.


- Work closely with and provide technical assistance to UNHCR partners implementing livelihoods programmes.


- Review technical proposals submitted by partners and advise on partnership decisions in line with UNHCR policies and guidelines.


- Work closely with RAHA teams in Pakistan in conceptualization and design of livelihoods programmes, as well as monitoring and results/impact assessments to be undertaken.


- Utilize the Results Based Management approach to monitor the ongoing pilot livelihoods programmes, explore new livelihoods opportunities, partnerships and advise the senior management on advocacy that should be done to improve the access for refugees to livelihoods opportunities in Pakistan.


- Perform other relevant duties as required.
