How can you make a difference?
Under the general supervision of Chief Planning, Monitoring and Reporting, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing situation reports (daily/weekly/monthly) and other official reporting products that are in line with the Emergency situation in Pakistan later on, with the performance monitoring indicators.  The reports are to be aligned with the programme and operations sectors UNICEF is engaged in, including information of the UNICEF Clusters and Sub-Cluster.  The Reports Specialist contributes to strengthening accountability with a focus on results-based reporting.  Assures a Monitoring and Reporting System is in place. Ensures quality inputs of donor reports and timely submission.

To make a difference you will be accountable for the following key duties & tasks:

  • Oversee and ensure timeliness and quality of UNICEF Country Office donor reporting through establishment of planning, tracking and monitoring mechanisms. Work closely with programme and field colleagues, to ensure adherence to RBM principles, and on-time submission of mandatory Country Office Reports including Country Office Annual Reports, Consolidated Emergency Report, Pakistan Chapter of Humanitarian Action of Children Report, Reports to the Government, and One Programme Reports.
  • Oversight and quality assurance for Programmatic Field Monitoring, including third party field monitoring, both for regular and emergency programmes including systems, capacity development of UNICEF staff at CO and field level.
  • Support CO results planning and reporting in Results Assessment Module by ensuring that the UNICEF annual and rolling work plans are in line with the CPD, UNDAF/One Programme and UNICEF SP. Coordinate with programme sections for bi-annual updating of progress in RAM.
  • Support Resource Mobilization with support to the programme sections for the preparation of concept notes, proposals and agreements for major donors including USAID, DFID, ECHO/EU, CERF
  • Provide support in preparing Situation Reports for external use to be shared with an external audience, including NatComs and Government Donors, and one for internal distribution only with more sensitive information, as required.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have


  • Advanced University degree in either social sciences, international development, business administration, project management, or other relevant discipline


  • Five years of relevant professional work experience in reporting (including in emergency contexts) and programme performance monitoring
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of global human rights issues, specifically relating to children and women, and the current UNICEF position and approaches, is an asset


  • Fluency in English and Urdu. Knowledge of the local languages of the duty station is an asset.
