| | | Job Description | | Surveillance Officer
Under the technical supervision of WHO Medical Officer for polio eradication in the province and the overall supervision of the WHO Representative, the Surveillance Officer will undertake the following duties:
1. Undertake regular site visits to reporting sites to search for unreported AFP cases.
2. Ensure that a line list of AFP cases in maintained by each district and an updated, accurate list is sent to the province weekly.
3. Compile surveillance indicators for the districts and use these to improve surveillance activities for both AFP and measles.
4. Ensure surveillance quality regular monitoring of activities and review of data quality at the district level.
5. Participate in detailed epidemiological investigations of suspected cases.
6. Provides training, feedback, and advocacy to National and other health care workers at the district level.
7. Assist in the implementation of all supplemental polio vaccination campaigns and other polio eradication activities as required.
