Under the direct supervision of the Associate Field Officer UNHCR Sub-Office Peshawar, the successful candidate will perform the following duties and functions:
1. Conduct preliminary interviews of individual cases with protection concerns in consultations with the Protection Officer;
2. Processes potential cases for third country resettlement;
3. Facilitates voluntary repatriation of Afghan Refugees;
4. Manages day-to-day work in Field Office Kohat;
5. Informs and acts on the reports received from refugees within the refugee community or from the local authorities, as required;
6. Follow-up protection issues with authorities concerned, including court cases concerning refugees;
7. Maintain liaison with camp officials on protection matters, including those in the judicial system;
8. Assists in assessing welfare and providing assistance to the refugee caseload in prisons;
9. Compiles monthly statistics of refugees in detention:
10. Acts as interpreter and translator when needed;
11. Performs other duties as required by the supervisor:
Required Skills
1. Computer skills;
2. Good knowledge of UNHCRs protection mandate.
3. Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team environment;
4. Flexibility and adaptability, team working, performance orientation, communication, professional and personal behaviour are UNHCR core competencies;
