| | | Job Description | | UNIFEM and MoWD seek services of a consultant for the following tasks. The work will comprise, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: .
Tasks and Responsibilities:Review and update of the National Plan of Action (NPA) for Women and National Policy for Development and Empowerment of Women (NPDEW)
- Desk review of international and national commitment on gender equality such as CEDAW Concluding Observations, National Policy on Women's Development (with focus on violence against women) etc and existing polices related to violence against women
- Desk review of revised NPA and NPDEW
- Ensuring integration of other relevant frameworks such as CEDAW, UNSCR 1325 as well as MDGs
- Development of sectoral indicators based on stakeholders inputs
- Revision and finalization of draft based on stakeholders' feedback.
Consultative review and participatory processUnder the direction of the MoWD and NCSW
- undertake a series of consultations with GoP, women machineries, donors, civil society organizations and networks in particular EVAW Alliance throughout the process at both national and provincial level (4 provinces + AJK, FATA and FANA + federal)
- National consultation for adoption of revised NPA and NPDEW
- Consultation with INGAD and other donor's groups
Deliverables:
- A detailed review of the existing national and international commitments on gender equality -policy brief
- Revised and updated National Plan of Action and
- New draft of NPDEW
- Validation consultations, reports and recommendations.
- End of assignment report
| | | Required Skills | | Minimum ten years experience in working with the Government and/or NGOs and/or international organizations on development issues, with strong experience around violence against women reduction.
Advanced degree in social sciences focus on gender equality and womens empowerment issues considered an asset;
Previous experience around policy development and drafting. Excellent legal and policy writing skills
