To make a difference, you will be accountable for the following tasks and deliverables

Task to be Performed

Provide professional digital photographic coverage to Polio Eradication programme activities and campaigns, under the supervision of the polio programme focal person.

Provide complete processed selection of images after each assignment with embedded captions and photo credits in properly titled CD/DVD.

Deliverables:

A minimum of 25 high resolution digital still images per day upon completion of each mission on a clearly labeled CD or DVD, with detailed captions and photo credits embedded in the metadata.

Service provisions:

The consultant photographer shall take guidance prior to and during each mission from the UNICEF focal person and or the UNICEF staff member accompanying and leading the mission.  

All images captured during a mission shall have non-exclusive concomitant world rights in all media in perpetuity.

The consultant photographer shall use his/her own photographic equipment and supplies during and after the mission.

Estimated Duration of Contract:  

Start date: 1st April 2019                       

End date: 31st Dec 2019 (45  days spread over 11 months)

Anticipated Travel Itinerary:    

The consultant shall be required to travel to all provinces, districts and sub-districts in Pakistan on need-basis to gather the desired media as and when needed. The travel arrangements will be mad by UNICEF and standard UN DSA rate will be paid.

Qualifications of Successful candidate:

Higher Secondary School Certificate and professional certificate

Experience:

Five years of experience at professional digital documentary photography, reportage and portraits.

Extensive experience covering social, humanitarian and development subjects within Pakistan.

Skills to produce field pictures in a challenging environment.

Since the photographer will be required to use his/her personal equipment during UNICEF assignments, he/she must have professional full frame DSLR camera/s and other photography gear as well as advance editing software.

Mobility and willingness to accept assignments at short notice.

Specific training in photography and/or media production

Previous work experience with UNICEF and/or other UN agencies and International NGOs is desirable.

Since the photographer will be required to use his/her personal equipment during UNICEF assignments, he/she must have professional full frame DSLR camera/s and other photography gear.

Expertise in digital documentary photography, reportage/photojournalism and portraiture.

Extensive experience in professional documentary photography (at least 5 years) covering social, humanitarian and development subjects within Pakistan.

Skills to produce field pictures in a challenging environment.

Ability to write good captions in English.

Mobility and willingness to accept assignments at short notice.

Previous work experience with UNICEF and/or other UN agencies and INGOs is desirable.

The consultant has to be based in Pakistan

Nature of Penalty Clause to be Stipulated in Contract:

The consultant shall observe confidentiality and refrain from sharing externally any information about the content of the captured footage/finished products. In the event of violation of this term, the consultancy shall be terminated.
