The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Country Office for Pakistan (COPAK) is tasked with assisting Pakistan through its Country Programme (CPII) 2016-19 with a focus on needs related to illicit trafficking and border management, criminal justice and drug demand reduction and HIV/AIDS. Diplomats from Pakistan regularly engage with migrants in European countries, often facing language barriers and irregular immigration status issues. Additionally, UNODC also hosts regional conferences regularly involving key stakeholders from regional countries. This year, the plan is to invite key stakeholders including Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Libya, Greece, and Italy to further regional cooperation on trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking the assistance of a National UN Volunteer to support the Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling (HTMS) team in organizing these events.
